Fixing GIFs and Spell Checker Not Working Issue in Microsoft Teams

Are you experiencing issues with GIFs not loading or your spell checker not working properly in Microsoft Teams? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered! Follow these simple steps to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Close Microsoft Teams

Firstly, make sure to completely close Microsoft Teams. You can do this by right-clicking the Teams icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of your screen) and selecting “Quit” or “Exit.”

Step 2: Navigate to Local Cache Directory

Next, navigate to the LocalCache directory where Teams stores temporary data. You can access this directory by following the file path below:

%userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams

You can copy and paste this path into the File Explorer address bar or navigate manually by opening File Explorer, going to your C: drive, then navigating through Users, your user profile folder, AppData, Local, Packages, MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe, LocalCache, and finally Microsoft, where you’ll find the MSTeams folder.

Step 3: Delete Contents of MSTeams Folder

Once you’re in the MSTeams folder, delete everything inside it. You can select all files and folders and either press the delete key or right-click and select “Delete.”

Step 4: Restart Microsoft Teams

After deleting the contents of the MSTeams folder, restart Microsoft Teams. Open the application again, and you should find that GIFs are loading correctly, and your spell checker is functioning as expected.

Step 5: Test to ensure everything is working fine

Try sending a GIF in a chat or composing a message to check if the spell checker is now active.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of GIFs not loading and spell checker malfunctioning in Microsoft Teams. If you encounter any further problems or have any questions, feel free to reach out to Microsoft support or consult the Teams community for assistance.
